Maxam MCO® Concrete Forming Panels Selected for Construction of the Freedom Towers, New York, New York November 19, 2007. Collavino Construction Company selected Maxam's MCO® (Maxam Composite Overlay)-faced plywood panels for construction of the above-ground portion of the initial Freedom Tower #2 at “Ground Zero” in downtown New York City. Construction of the above-ground portion is scheduled to begin March of 2008. MCO® was selected over all other concrete forming panels offered in the industry primarily for its high reuse capabilities (eliminating the need to change-out panels during the construction process), high quality architectural finish on the concrete (minimizing the labor intensive concrete finishing generally required with other forming products), and no-slip safety feature.
